Ever get that feeling as you wake up that you've slept a little longer than you should have? That you really should be somewhere else by now as you slowly focus on your watch?
It's 6:50am, we've all slept through the alarm, and we're meant to be at the hospital for 7am! Lucky for us the apartments is so close and by 7:15am we're on the ward although for the first time in all our trips they're waiting for us, usually we hang around for 30 minutes waiting for a room.
Ellis has numbing cream placed on the back of each hand and drinks some sleepy juice. Then he's wheeled down to theatre, along with special red "Duggie Wuggie" in place of the usual white one, as his words get more and more slurred. We say our goodbye's at around 8am then it's the long wait until they call one of us down to the recovery room.
